BAND MEMBER BIOGRAPHIES
Herb Martin III
Herb began attending local bluegrass jams and decided he would like to play the guitar. He purchased his first guitar in April 2005. Herb became very proficient in
a short time and was able to play rhythm and some lead in a few months, Herb is a powerful rhythm and lead guitarist. He has developed his own style and can play
fast lead as well as hard driving rhythm . Herb started singing in October 2007, his lead and harmony vocals have brought a new dimension to the band.
Clayton Martin
Clayton began playing Mandolin in April 2005, within several months Clayton was picking out melodies. Clayton has developed a chop that gives the band its drive. He
prefers a more traditional style similar to Bill Monroe, Ronnie McCoury and Dave McLaughin. Clayton favors the fast songs which he can play with blazing speed. He
started singing November 2007 and sings fine lead and tenor harmony, he also plays mandolin for The Salem Bottom Boys and has also played on stage with Kody Norris and Danny Paisley.
Aaron Martin
Aaron is the youngest and last of his brothers to start playing an instrument. He developed his style watching Michael Paisley and is proficient at walking the bass and keeping us all together playing on top of the beat.
Aaron has also played bass for the Fitzmaurice Band and has played a few gigs with Kody Norris and Danny Paisley and the Southern Grass.
Steve Unkart
Steve started playing bluegrass around the age of nine.. Steve’s high energy stage presence and powerful vocals give the band a unique and exciting sound. Steve has
a large repertoire of songs mostly consisting of traditional bluegrass with a mix of contemporary bluegrass and some classic country.
Herb Martin Jr
It is said that Herb is the glue that holds the band together. Herbs first musical experience came at a young age where he sang choir in church. Around the age of 16 he played the harmonica for fun.
He started playing the guitar and singing bluegrass at the age of fifty. His main contribution to the band is of course his three sons and vocal
abilities, being the only vocalist when the band started
